CORAL GABLES, Fla., June 10, 2009 – Raymond Zomerfeld, a founding partner of Ocariz, Gitlin & Zomerfeld, LLP Certified Public Accountants of Coral Gables, has been elected Chairperson of the City of Coral Gables Economic Development Board.

The Board assists the city’s development department in several functions, including goal development and implementation; making recommendations to the city commission on development issues; identifying markets; and developing programs to attract new business and developers as well as retain existing business. Members are appointed by the mayor and city commissioners.

Mr. Zomerfeld has more than 20 years of experience helping individuals and companies as a certified public accountant and certified valuation analyst. In addition, he is an expert in litigation support, insurance casualty and economic loss. Mr. Zomerfeld is a former member of the Florida Bar’s grievance committee and the National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts; he also serves on the boards of directors of the Riviera Country Club and the South Florida Golf Foundation. As a certified valuation analyst, Mr. Zomerfeld is a highly regarded expert on claims involving business litigation, windstorm, fire and economic loss, particularly in the commercial printing industry.
