Denise Diaz is an audit partner in charge of quality control for Ocariz, Gitlin & Zomerfeld,
LLP. Ms. Diaz is experienced in both the for-profit and not-for-profit industries; she also has extensive construction industry experience. She has been with the firm since 1993.
Ms. Diaz graduated from Florida International University in 1992 with a bachelor’s degree in accounting and received her state accreditation as a certified public accountant in 1995. She later earned a master’s degree in accounting from Florida International University. Ms. Diaz became a partner in 2001 after three years as an audit
manager.
Ms. Diaz is a member of the Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and has completed the required course to be a team captain on their peer review programs. She is a past member of the United Way of Miami-Dade’s audit committee, which is responsible for the review of all not-for-profit agency contributions for Miami-Dade and Monroe Counties
